IFA 2014: Philips introduced the first TV with a curved screen, Android-based, and with a resolution of 4K Ultra HD – Ferra

The company introduced the first TP Vision Philips TV with a curved screen – Philips 55PUS8909C. New 4K Ultra HD model series 8900 A 55-inch (139 cm) is based on the Android OS and is certified by Google. This opens a simple and convenient access to TV content, games, applications and online services from the store Google Play.


motion sharpness for Philips TV 8900 Series provides an indication PMR Ultra 1000 Hz, and image enhancement features Ultra Resolution. The model also implemented technology Local Contrast, which displays a contrast to a higher level, and Micro Dimming Pro – a solution that using the light sensor constantly adjusts the LED backlight of the screen to the external lighting conditions, providing the depth of black and white brightness.

The remote control that comes with the Philips 8900 Series makes online interaction with a large screen TV’s simple and convenient, allowing the user to choose the preferred method of controlling TV. Built-in Remote Pointer works on the principle of a computer mouse and allows you to move the mouse, to click and scroll through the menus. On the reverse side of the remote is a full keyboard that simplifies typing. Also, the remote is able to receive voice commands. Finally, the built-in camera has a function of gesture recognition and converting them to the set of commands. Philips TV with a curved screen 8900 Series is equipped with a three-way Ambilight and will go on sale in the Russian market since the third quarter of 2014.
