CES 2015: Samsung TVs first quantum dot called SUHD TV – 3DNews

At CES 2015 Samsung Electronics has brought his first television, built on the basis of quantum dots. South Korean television range, presented at the event in Las Vegas, is very wide.

From the press release published today, shows that visitors CES 2015 will see 65, 78- and 88-inch TVs in the quantum dots. Device referred to by the SUHD TV, where the first letter «S» represents just four words: Spectacular, Smart, Stylish and Superb (exciting, smart, stylish and luxurious).

The technology involves the use of quantum dots special film of semiconductor nanocrystals, by which the LCD panel gets higher performance color (NTSC color space coverage may exceed 100%), contrast and energy consumption compared to the LED-display.

According to the manufacturer, SUHD TVs capable of displaying more than one billion colors that is 64 times greater than existing models. All displayed at the exhibition Samsung TVs are based on the operating system Tizen.

South Korean giant Exhibits at CES 2015 will be the world’s first 105-inch curved TV quantum dot and a TV with a resolution of 8K, capable of displaying 3D-content, to show that does not need special glasses.
