LG is already selling curved OLED TVs, but this is the first curved models using LCD panels. UC970 Series is available with 55- and 65-inch screens with a resolution of Ultra HD and with support for intelligent platform WebOS.
Currently, almost every major TV manufacturer has in its range, at least one curved pattern. On the UC970, LG offers the market its first curved LCD LED TV with a resolution of Ultra HD.
Televisions are equipped with a new platform LG WebOS, easily controlled using the remote Magic Remote. LG is trying to bring smart TVs to the next stage of development at the expense of the operating system WebOS, which is used in televisions since the beginning of this year, offering a simple and intuitive user interface based on the “maps” that pop up in the bottom of the screen. LG also notes the use here more powerful built-in audio, created in collaboration with Harman Kardon.
Since this Ultra HD TV, LG sold it HDMI 2.0 input for connecting 4K players, as well as the decoder HEVC, which is required for the reception of digital network Ultra HD video over a high resolution, for example, Netflix 4K. Other features include passive 3D technology (Cinema 3D) and play multimedia files from external media.
LG UC970 will be sold in Europe and the Middle East as a 55- and 65-inch models called 55UC970V and 65UC970V. Which models will be offered for the US market is still unknown.
