Google to launch online pay-TV - TVNZ

Google Inc. wants to launch its own service, which would be broadcast via conventional TV stations online in the “streaming” mode.

According to the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing its sources, Google is now in talks with major media companies to license content for its Internet TV.

Meanwhile, the idea of ??paid Internet TV is interested not only Google. Since broadcasters are trying to negotiate as the Sony and Intel. And Apple offers media companies like the idea for several years.

However, experts believe that Google is slightly better chance of success. According to unofficial data, the company demonstrated during the negotiations a special device that allows users to watch streaming video on the computer screen as well as on television, and even change channels just as well.

Note that existing video services (Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.com) has recently become more popular. While demand for traditional cable TV drops. But these video services offering content “on demand.” Now, the idea of ??large IT-companies is to broadcast on the Internet channels is in “streaming” usual people mode.

By the way, if the media corporations agree to give the broadcast rights to someone from Internet giants (and maybe several at once), the online TV hit hard on traditional TV. We now have pay TV operators and so the situation is not simple. And the Internet TV will be another very strong competitor in the battle for subscribers.
