For more stimuli during sleep (included nightlight or working TV) can trigger the growth of breast cancer in women. Light interferes with the body’s cells produce melatonin. This hormone inactivates cancer cells on and off processes associated with tumor growth.

It is noteworthy that the inactive cells more susceptible to conventional cancer therapy. If a person does not sleep in a dark room, the treatment with tamoxifen does not have the desired effect. These are set by David Blasco of Tulane University.

Blasco organized experiment on laboratory mice. Melatonin improved animal health and meshes growth of cancerous tumors. Tamoxifen acted much better, if the patient is asleep in a quiet room without extra lighting. Particularly strong positive effect was detected when mice were given special additives. Scientists are advised to limit the intensity of the lighting in the bedrooms, to improve sleep quality and reduce the risk of cancer.
