LG launches new 40-inch Ultra HD TV – hifi News.RU

LG expands its range of Ultra HD TV, releasing a new LCD TV with 40UB800V 40-inch screen on the basis of the LCD panel with LED backlighting and, of course, with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Even though this is the entry level model, it has a basic set of features. Firstly, there is a system of motion compensation in the form of 900 UCI (Ultra Clarity Index), as well as support for new standards for UHD resolution introduced in the last few months, namely HDMI 2.0 (three inputs) and a decoder compatible with HEVC.

The TV video processor used Tru-ULTRA HD Engine, has two tuners: DVB-T2 and DVB-S2. Via the USB port, you can record live TV or play multimedia files (also supported by the client DLNA). Set of interfaces is wide enough: yes Ethernet, Wi-Fi, WiDi, Miracast and MHL.

Intelligent Platform 40UB800V made on the basis of Netcast 4,5, providing the same set of available content, as well as other smart TV with Netcast. The control system uses a remote control Magic Remote with an integrated accelerometer, which allows to use it as an on-screen pointer. Built-in microphone lets you control to use voice commands.

the TV essentially lacks only support 3D sources. The most intriguing option is the LG 40UB800V selling price. TV is already available in several European stores with prices that are often less than 700 euros, the sum is absolutely unthinkable for a product of this type a few months ago.
