Scientists have shown that the monitor and the TV does not spoil vision – Russian newspaper

Researchers at Ohio State University found no link between the deteriorating eyesight adolescents and their duration of sitting at the computer or TV. To prove this, the scientists took more than 20 years, writes The Telegraph.

In the long-term study involved 4,500 children aged six to eleven years. They were observed by scientists, who closely followed all the changes in their vision. As a result, researchers have found that long-term interaction with the monitor or TV can cause the development of short-sightedness or myopia. Reading books, according to scientists, is not a risk factor.

So says more than a hundred years, – said professor and dean of the College of Optometry at the University of Ohio Karla Zadnik. – However, in this large database with representatives of different ethnic groups of children we did not see any connection “.

In addition, scientists examined 13 other risk factors for myopia to reveal the strongest of them. This factor was the refraction of the eye (the process of refraction) in children aged six years.
