Web camera, laptop and a television – a gentlemen’s set for meeting rooms in Russia – Intelligent Enterprise

Experts TrueConf conducted a survey among Russian companies in order to find out what kind of equipment is used for video conference rooms. According to the survey, the respondents prefer an inexpensive and easy to install the equipment instead of expensive specialized systems.

The study involved representatives from 75 different companies. The respondents’ answers are structured into four main categories: video, sound, terminal equipment and accessories.

According TrueConf, 49% of respondents use the simplest version of the equipment – an ordinary webcam. The second most popular is a PTZ-camera, it is equipped with 40% of negotiation. His audiences are gained by allowing the camera to focus on the speaker, but also because it includes as standard many hardware videoconferencing terminals. About 23% of respondents have available IP-cameras, which often act as additional equipment for independent recording conferences in the hall.

As for display devices, almost half of the respondents use the usual LCD screens. His place in the meeting room, they took a long time, and then became part of the conference system. Alternatively, the display device 40% of respondents use the projector. A more high-tech and expensive solutions on the basis of interactive displays or video walls are much rarer – only 13 and 11%, respectively.

Among the audio capture device in conference rooms lead speakerphones, they use 25% of the respondents. In 24% of the respondents installed conference systems with separate microphones for each participant, which is typical for large

negotiating, where inadequate coverage speakerphone. Ceiling microphones are installed in 16% of the respondents. About 20% of respondents use the audio mixer for audio information from multiple sources.

It should be noted that 21% of respondents do not have in meeting rooms of specialized devices for audio output, and use conventional stereo speakers.

The basis of the conference system are increasingly act or laptop computers preloaded with software for video conferencing, use them 52% of the respondents. Compact PC enclosure, stylized design of the meeting room, gradually replacing hardware terminals for video conferencing, share nevertheless is 44%.

With the advent of the possibility of recording the content on a program level, the use of certain devices recording pushed aside they are used only 20% of respondents. In large conference rooms PTZ-cameras with 15% of respondents set guidance system on the speaker. Also, 12% use the optional Document Camera, but the switcher signal control system hall or conference telephone own only 9% of respondents.
