Sergei Polonsky, May 17, was deported from Cambodia to Russia. Previously, he was arrested in connection with violation of the visa regime in the country. At the same time were arrested five of its partners.
Before that Polonsky was in Cambodia under house arrest in connection with the investigation into the criminal case against him on charges of using violence to local seamen and illegal deprivation of liberty.
From December 2012 to April 2013 the businessman was in a Cambodian prison. He faces three years in prison, but managed to negotiate with the protection of victims and Cambodian sailors took their statements and Polonsky, in turn, pays them compensation. However, the case is still not closed.
Russia sought extradition from Cambodia Polonsky to bring him to trial on charges of fraud in the construction of residential complex “Kutuzov mile”. Polonsky also accused of embezzling funds of citizens, participatory construction of residential complex “Rublevsky Riviera”.
In Russia, deported from Cambodia Polonsky accused of large-scale fraud. In the case of conviction, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
After delivery to Russia Polonsky was appointed psychiatric examination. After its official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Elena Alekseeva he said that the state Polonsky allows you to participate in the investigation.
