Samsung has introduced clear and mirrored displays – Mail.Ru

The Giants manufacturing industry displays are constantly competing with each other, especially noticeable race between Korean Samsung and LG. Last earlier presented its plan for the development of screens until 2017 and showed a truly flexible display, and sources assure that the transparent panels from LG has also ready. However, the first to show a unique solution could just Samsung.

During the exhibition Retail Asia Expo Korean Samsung demonstrated the latest OLED-displays. The main novelty transparent 55-inch TV with a resolution of Full HD. When 45% strength transparency, TV provides 100% color gamut standard NTSC, which is much better existing LCDs typically provide only 10% at 70% transparency of colors, reminiscent Samsung.

Transparent displays have also been adapted for that call Samsung Automobile Real Sense Solution – this will show the buyer, as will appear with different options cars or without them in the picture, a screen on a real example.

However, the Koreans showed a mirror TV. Here we also have 55-inch panel with a resolution of Full HD. 75% level of reflection (competitors – at least 50%) has almost no effect on image – the contrast of 100,000: 1, and the response time of less than 1 ms can not but rejoice.

The exhibition shows a transparent display Magic Mirror, which can potentially be used in jewelry stores. Samsung offers a way to try on jewelry, not actually wearing them. To realize this ideas Koreans use technology Intel RealSense 3D, which has already reached the gaming notebooks and candy bars.

Samsung, seems to be going in the right direction, trying to adapt the technology to the business environment rather than home use, where the interest could make except that mirror TV RealSense, which could still pick up the outfit before putting on it. However, the cost of such a cabinet with “intelligent” mirror, if it arrives, will be a lot.
