TV broadcasting in analog format on the territory of the Russian Federation will be completely phased out July 1, 2018, according to a draft government resolution, prepared by the Ministry of Communications.
The draft states that the States will implement the shutdown of analog TV as soon as available.
According to the previously adopted regulations for off analog TV in the region should be provided by digital TV at least 95% of the population.
Before disconnecting the analog TV in the region, local authorities, in partnership with the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network” (FSUE “RTRS”) and Rostelecom should check the provision of digital TV and to report thereon to the Coordination Group for the implementation of digital television.
If digital TV in the region is provided at least 95% of the population analogue TV switch-off date in the region may be postponed to a later time.
