Monday Bulgaria switches to digital TV - BlackSeaNews

At exactly 00:00 on the night of 29 to 30 September in Bulgaria will be turned off analog TV broadcasting and the transition to digital television.

According to Novinite, only 75,000 of all 210,000 Bulgarians who rely DTT-free receivers, time to get them on time.

Under the current program, providing DTT-receivers socially disadvantaged groups, free devices can get all the citizens of the countries that received benefits last winter for heating.

A few days ago there was information that the scheduled September 30 shutdown of analog TV broadcasting from 350,000 to one million Bulgarians, who are used to making television programs exclusively from ground-ester may be left without access to television.

How

warned chairman of the Commission on Communications Regulation Veselin Bozhkov, even in regions with a stable signal digital TV, some viewers may be left without television, because coverage of digital television is still at 85%.

Despite these complications, Bozhkov does not believe that the solution to the problems should be another delay the timing of digitalization.

Earlier

Bulgaria was going to make the transition from analog to digital television on September 1, but later transition date was set for October 1.

According to Bulgarian officials, the reason for the delay was due to the fact that the EU officials in Brussels have not approved the program in time to ensure free DTT-receivers vulnerable people.

Low-income citizens can get vouchers for free “decoders” until October 30, and to get the device up to the end of November.
