The well-known TV presenter, met with the participants of the Festival of youth journalism« Time Code »in Yekaterinburg. Questions were asked not only to young journalists, but also the Marianna us that it was interested in what we think of journalism, the world and its future. – I came to television 31 August 1991. 90s called dashing, but I do not like this definition, – he told reporters Marianne. – 90 years – gold in terms of freedom of Russian journalism. And I am thankful that so was born and came of age at exactly this time. Freedom can, and has played a cruel joke: inhaling of oxygen, then it is impossible to live in the sense of freedom. But even that now – more freedom than non-freedom.
I’m 30 years in journalism and on television – 24 years. And journalism – my favorite thing that still causes me the most acute feelings. Lately, unfortunately, more negative. You and a lot of things to talk about. But first I would like you to get to know and understand who you are.
TV presenter asked: Who of those who came to meet the students, first-year students and undergraduates who are studying for journalists and who is soon to arrive . Who is the direction in which journalism wants to work, what the journalists know. Marianne asked a lot, interested and sometimes asked to explain their position. For example, I asked to substantiate the view that the bloggers – not journalists.
– Look, you’re cool. No kidding. Just a balm to my soul. I agree with you – commented Marianne replies guys. Sama TV presenter 13 years consciously wanted to be a journalist.

– You’re right. I elaborate on. Who does not believe that America is our enemy? Who believes that our troubles are not from the United States? And who thinks the opposite? – Marianne changed question.
Most of the guys do not believe that our troubles are to blame the United States. Marianne asked to explain their point of view – one could speak. One girl felt that America is fighting an information war against us – hence the trouble. To think about the information war. And someone said that other countries can not blame what you need to start with yourself.
About compromise
The ten-twelve people raised their hands to the question “Who wants to drive information-analytical programs?”. And to the question, “Who wants to go to work on the state channel?” Only five.
– Wow, how little. I am surprised, though, – he admitted Marianne and again asked to explain both points of view. Someone believes in the federal channels more options. One young man said that he understands what is happening with the television, but will try to work well and on the federal channels.
– Are you ready to accept all the rules that exist in the offices? Who is willing to make compromises in the future work? – Marianne said and explained what compromises can be. Little children raised their hands.
– And in fact, there is always a compromise – said TV presenter. – There is also the issue of borders, but to meet our business since we kopromiss every time. But, when I was your age, too, did not raise his hands would never. Now, the first would have done it. Do you know how many cases can be? We worked in zero. Then there was almost no ethical codes. We NTV written your code, almost tearing it with Code BBC. And once there was an explosion in Moscow in transition on Pushkin Square. Incidentally, our crew was passing along Tverskaya Street. I went a young girl, almost a freshman. She is a journalist born – it is instinct: so she developed curiosity, interest and restlessness. Our team has all it took off. And we got a picture in the air. We do not have mounted this and that in this way brought into the ether. And I can tell you: I do now would never have done. Never. To the detriment of the whole: the detriment of competition and common sense – it would seem, we have this same sensation, it is necessary to show and tell shock. But it is so unethical … It was necessary to make a careful installation. I would not do that today. We would be late, but these shots I’d held her.

We had everything, and most of us did not show at all. It was exclusive, but to give him it was impossible. And these things happen all the time. And then there is a choice: whether to close the face of the hero? whether to take an interview with heartbroken mother? what should be the tone and give any unverified information? whether to agree to hold the story? Such questions billions. There are times when you can go to the agreement for the profession. In the highest sense of the word.
«We can be more than others»
Participants asked whether Marianna occasions when we had to make a deal with a conscience, she closed her eyes to his principles.
– I was lucky, and I’m not really a standard example. All my life I worked in the non-state TV channels. Until last year, we did the program “Week”. And she went out in the complex for the Russian political journalism years. When the field of freedom shrank like shagreen leather. In this situation, there is nothing to hide: we can be more than the others. It’s a fact. When there was no political competition, we could have more. And the reasons are many. We had no such coverage, for example. We have the same democratic country: should grow all the flowers. So we grew up. We understood that we are allowed to, and we did everything possible to make use of this situation to the maximum. Compromises are, of course, they were. But not the ones you’re talking about. In a deal with his conscience, neither I nor my colleagues did not go even once. This amazing my professional happiness. I’m thankful for that: it should not be, but it happened. And we had an idea of our mission, and this we rallied. And the TV – it’s a team game. One you there is safety in numbers. If you have a team – you’re a long time. No team – you come and you go.
When you do not touch – a professional deformation
The new journalism, said Marianne, is another language . And the one who will be the best. A professional deformation of the journalist, in her opinion – the cynicism and the habit of the suffering of others.
– When you do not touch – it is also deformation. As the situation is “swam – we know.” There is also an element of addiction. Some two years work and their position: I have a veteran, well, where do I go. This is wrong.
When Marianne asked to name important quality for journalists, schoolchildren and students talked about believing in yourself, the desire and ability to work hard.
– That’s right. But you called everything except education. Have education – the main thing. All these people who you called, very educated. There will be no education – will not be a career. It is necessary and knowledge of history, for example. Our heroes are deceiving us. You will not know the story – will not be able to see that the person is lying, and ask him questions. To form – this is important. Education – what gives a pillow.
She said the TV presenter and that the young journalists will not be easy.
– When I came on NTV, we were your age. And we were taught to us were doing. We went and filmed the big political stories. That was incredible. And you now in this sense, no luck. You need to go through all the steps. We were in the air – we were on the air, you can learn. It was possible, you do not. You have to try very hard. Clearly a long time to beat at one point. And do not break. It is difficult: you have to work long and monotonous. And it will be bright enough start-ups.
If you can not be a journalist – go – Marianne A. advised young journalists – go along. Where it is necessary, where you will, and there will. Sometimes it is necessary to make a decision. And think logically – miscalculated, and the heart – guessing. And, of course, the journalist must be persuasion. Win one who is striking and personal. The viewer goes to the brightest people, personalities. Be personalities. Such people in normal times are the best. Now is the time for bad journalism. But I hope the time will pass and you will force me back on TV.
