Despite the fact that a month ago, rumors about iTV, mystical TV from Apple, with an enviable rate fell into the net, many analysts are skeptical about the possibility of the appearance of this device. Opponents of iTV often insist that the market for Internet televidinie and video content is too small to force Apple to take such a drastic step.
But recent research TDG (The Diffusion Group) show the opposite. According to TDG, the market of “smart” TV is growing rapidly: 25% of respondents with broadband access to the Internet, use the Smart TV.
Only 14% of respondents are owners of Apple TV, Roku Box and other set-top boxes. As we see the full “smart” TVs are far more popular with consumers than additional devices connected to a regular TV.
Apple TV and Roku Box
TDG Research shows that the percentage of Smart TV users has doubled in the last year from 12% to 25%. Number of owners boxes and similar devices with streaming content for the year increased by only 2%. The difference is more than noticeable.
Despite the fact that the rumors about iTV recently died down, giving way to rumors of iWatch, not worth a quick buck off of Apple TV off. It is possible that a young growing market in the future will become a new area of ??expansion of the apple company.
