Vladislav’s childhood passed in the Kiev underground – when the war began, he was just 9 years old:

– What was the worst job?
– Imagine walking down the street patrols. And my mother and I accept a string bag potatoes. It turns out that among the potatoes lying magnetic mine. – You were not afraid to go there?
– Afraid or not – it was my duty. Debt. We all worked there. Although … Not all. Some party cards thrown, others refused, saying, sorry, I have a young wife. One said that he had a young mistress.

– After Chernobyl, no compensation was promised?
– No. I was just doing the job party, editorial and government. Everything was to be honest – do you need someone to be there to work. After all these sufferings we were sent to a sanatorium for rehabilitation.
Exodus trip to the liquidators was sad – the majority of operators and journalists working in Chernobyl, the radiation dose received terrible. Many have died, others – disability. Vladislav Stepanovich was no exception – he now walks with a cane. But it is so cheerfully held to be envied by even 20-year-old boys.

No exposure, no need to measure. After all, when we were working on a film, you had to take into account the exposure, the sensitivity of the film, set light. – And how do you do TV today?
– Well, it’s my connection to the outside world.
– What channels look?

For 40 years, Vladislav Stepanovich was shooting documentaries and stories. Much has changed – technology, equipment, rules of photography. The operator, a veteran shared with me some interesting details, details of the time.

– What is the biggest project you shot?
– I basically shot himself, without a lot of cameras and equipment. Just when we were working on “Television movie,” it was necessary to take several chambers some cabaret performances. And in 2003, a film about Mirhorod shot, it was my project.
– What are the most valuable resource for more than 40 years on television, you have managed to pull off?
– A lot. Starring former guerrillas, for example. I accompanied the first delegation of former “kovpakovtsev” and “Fedorovtsev” who came to Ukraine.
