By 2015, digital TV will be available to all Russians - Russian Newspaper

Russian government has made changes to the federal program “Development of broadcasting in the Russian Federation for 2009-2015.” According to the document, by 2015 digital TV will be available to more than 98 percent of the population.

changes include redistribution of budgetary allocations as part of the program without compromising outcome indicators for population coverage of digital television broadcasting, said in a statement on the government website.

Decisions will help achieve the objectives of the program, as well as the best use of budgetary funds.

According to polls, three-quarters of Russians watch television almost every day. 40 percent of respondents used to the “box” is always enabled, and consider it a major source of information. Most of our fellow citizens enjoy watching the news and movies. However, many say that on TV too much “negativity”, violence and vulgarity.
