Greek government on June 11 announced the closure of the public television “due to the opaque financial performance and extravagance.” In its place, the government is going to create a public organization – New Greek radio, Internet and television (NERIT). Closure of ERT led to protests in the community and opposed by almost all parties except the far-right “Golden Dawn”.
