If you thought that the Sony announced a new TV for a year at the exhibition CES-2016, you made a mistake. Today, the company introduced a new series Z. This range is represented by LCD TVs, but, according to the company itself, it is an absolute rebirth IPS-panel televisions in this series better and brighter.

line is powered by Android TV so like the rest of televisions from Sony in recent years. But the best thing is that the company’s flagship TVs not only have the image quality 4K HDR Ultra HD, offering ultra-high resolution of pixels, where the stars of the Milky Way in the image can be considered in the thousands, but a new Master Drive backlight technology. This technology, which we have seen in the form of prototype at the CES, aims to bring brightness and contrast, which will compete with the richness sets OLED.

Backlight Master Drive is essentially accurate backlight technology, which is designed to provide the best coverage as far as possible. There’s a very tight LCD layer on top of the TV, which is connected to a unique algorithm of lighting to do the work so that the audience gasped.

Digital LED controls requesting the TV to reduce the brightness and increase the luminance of each LED individually, and not just to cover the whole area. At the same time the calibrated LED light beam focuses on a specific area, preventing leakage. This is how Sony says offers “unprecedented contrast and realism”, which leads to a deep black and bright image. Let us compare the results in the image below:

in addition to all of the packages of the Z series in a new TV 4K HDR contain processor X1TM Extreme, which combined with Master Drive backlight technology should lead to improved color and contrast. Sony claims that it has 40 percent more power in real-time and allows you to process images much better than the previous 4K-processing X1TM.

Let us add here that new TVs are equipped with features of object-oriented HDR-remastering, dual database processing and Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR. All this is combined into one to create the best HD-upscaling, improved noise reduction and a smoother picture as a whole.

The models are offered 65-inch and 75-inch. They are already available for pre-sale, starting today, priced at $ 6999 and $ 9999, respectively, and will arrive in stores later this summer. And if you prefer the version is still larger, the 100-inch model will be available later this year until a certain price.

By the way, the truth, journalists who visited the Sony demovystavke and saw the new Z-series TVs were among the first, in one voice say that the demonstration of 100-inch model showed absolutely stunning image.

The images are breathtakingly realistic. The audience was impressed by the way the transferred details and textures in the video. If, for example, a chef on the screen makes the sushi, you can see a glimpse of and texture of every single piece of nigiri, as if they were in front of you.

Another advantage of the new algorithm illumination from Sony is that blur is significantly reduced. The company showed a demonstration of a moving slideshow with MotionFlow, and Z-TV like all removed any notion of blurring that perfectly show itself in sports broadcasts and shows, action-action movies and shows, dominated by rapid movements. Sony definitely sets a new standard for LCD TVs
